The Clean Team of the Valued Employee Project is recruiting and taking applications for part time Mentor/Supervisors that can deploy in jobs or contracts to serve our community.
This job creating project will, at first be set up on a day labor or job arrangement based on actually job or contract work.
All jobs pay minimum wage for the workers and $10 for the mentor/supervisors. Most of the initial work will be vegetation control, debris clean up, gardening, exterior house cleaning and window washing, fire clearance compliance and vehicle detailing and sales. All workers would be paid minimum wage and no benefits. The goal is to prepare at-risk trainees to re-enter our community as transformed productive, law abiding valued employee candidates we can recommend for better marketplace jobs.
We will also soon need a job estimator and dispatcher/coordinator preferably a retired volunteer or stakeholder. All workers are carefully screened and are eager to prove themselves as valued employees.
The profile of the ideal mentor/supervisor would be as follows:
- Good communications skills
- Basic knowledge of safety issues and use and maintenance of hand tools, lawnmowers, weed whackers, and cleaning equipment (power washers, window washing etc)
- Have a valid Drivers License and drive the workers to the job site in a company vehicle or theirs.
- Keep time cards and records on each of the workers and jobs.
- Provide customer service satisfaction assurance
- Familiar with County Fire safety requirement
- Invite friends and groups to use the services of Valued Employees-CALL IN JOBS TO: 917-3457
- Pray for and encourage each of the workers
- Love for the Lord and people and value the opportunity to supervise/mentor workers on the job.
- Get workers plugged into good: support activities, people, services and Bible studies.
- Inspire them to be Valued Employees
- Recommend/Reference for placement in job market those meeting the performance standards

We need donations of operating tools, lawnmowers, weed whackers, hand tools and cleaning implements, power washers and supplies, trailers, pickups, tractors with brush hogs and riding mowers, bobcats, vans and vehicles. We have offices at 3300 Veda Street, two warehouses and some vehicles to start the operation scheduled for June 1, 2008.
All donations are tax deductible from Set Free Services, Inc one of the shareholder non profit tax exempt participating organizations. Drop off donations at 3300 Veda Street (off South Market Street) or after July 1 also at 3626 Railroad Avenue. We also detail vehicles at both the 3626 Railroad Avenue shop and the 3300 Veda Street location or for local area we provide mobile service and come to your location to detail your vehicle if there is access to water and electricity.
